STOCKHOLM, 9th of September 2026: Leading provider of tokenised payment technology Fidesmo has today announced a partnership with global technology brand HONOR (www.honor.com), launching contactless payments on the HONOR Watch 6. Powered by Fidesmo Pay, the integration enables users to connect an existing Mastercard or Visa card to their watch and complete contactless transactions directly from the device, bringing Fidesmo’s network of over 900 banks and financial institutions to HONOR’s customers.
“HONOR has always been committed to elevating the user experience. By integrating NXP’s industry-leading NFC technology and Fidesmo’s secure payment platform into the HONOR Watch 6, we are delivering on this promise, offering a seamless and sophisticated digital wallet that redefines on-the-go convenience for our users in Western Europe,” said Adam Cao, President of HONOR Western Europe.
Users can connect an existing card to the HONOR Watch 6 instantly through the HONOR Health App, which installs a unique token directly onto the watch. Acting as a secure reference to the payment method, this token allows customers to pay without storing their actual payment details on the device. Once installed, users can tap the watch at any contactless terminal to pay, just as they would with a card or phone.
Marking Fidesmo’s entry into the smartwatch market, the partnership comes as tokenised contactless payments increasingly move onto wearable devices, expanding a platform which to date has been predominantly deployed across offline devices. The partnership also expands the company’s reach by exposing Fidesmo Pay to a major new consumer base, leveraging HONOR’s considerable market presence.
HONOR joins a group of device partners that already includes Swatch, Polar, and Mondaine as Fidesmo continues to build momentum across categories. The addition of HONOR further establishes Fidesmo’s position as the leading platform for tokenised contactless payments, giving banks and card issuers a single connection point through which their cards can reach any Fidesmo-supported device, and any device that may adopt contactless payments in the future.
Fidesmo’s banking network also continues to grow, now spanning more than 900 banks and financial institutions across over 40 countries, with recent additions including Klarna and Germany’s Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken. This extensive network means a device maker such as HONOR can connect once to Fidesmo and reach the entire network, bringing payments to market in months rather than negotiating each banking relationship itself, whilst banks can reach a range of device makers to ensure they keep pace with growing consumer demand for frictionless payments.
Contactless payments on the HONOR Watch 6 are available now across Europe and the Middle East to users whose bank is connected to Fidesmo Pay.
Fidesmo Co-Founder and CEO Mattias Eld comments: “We are excited to welcome HONOR, one of the world’s leading device makers, into the Fidesmo ecosystem. This partnership has enabled Fidesmo to enter the smartwatch category, representing the next chapter for the company as we continue to build the infrastructure that connects device manufacturers, banks and services across the contactless economy.
A device brand should be able to bring payments to a product in months rather than years, and without having to build hundreds of banking relationships of its own. Through Fidesmo Pay – the platform underpinning the partnership – HONOR gains access to a payments ecosystem spanning more than 900 banks and financial institutions across over 40 countries, significantly reducing the time it takes to bring secure contactless payments to consumers.”
